VISUAL JOURNAL
Technique used for these two series of visual journel is using water colour, and some crayon line for highlighting part. The exploration of colour tone and perspective drawings through my first time experience of urban sketch. As the whole project is about famous places and attractions in Kuala Lumpur, the journey are being separated into four series. Each series are sketched with both front and back pades.
In the journey of this project, I felt extra excited because most of the sites from these series are near to my place which enable me to travel to the site and have a quick urban sketch onspot. It really generates my interest to keep drawing from this place to the next and until the end of the journey. Different view of architecture sketch may present different feeling and mood which is interesting.
These two series, I am using coffee art as both of the theme is related to more relaxing topic which is Leisure series and Restaurant series. At first, it is a bit challenging because it was a new skill for me and the control of density in coffee can really make a big difference to the final outcome. Moreover, the type of coffee can also affect the result and quality of art.
After trying several times, I realize it requires speediness in order to control well. Meanwhile, the depth and shades need to be done layer upon layer. Drying section may be a difficult period where different type of coffee needed different duration to dey and for several type of coffee can attracts small insects. However, at the end the result was good after trying and fixing and it smells good whenever I open it and read it as it also reflect the mood of these series.
